Frank Toddar is a visual artist, crafter, and entrepreneur from Kpando in Ghana’s Volta Region. With deep roots in Ewe tradition and a passion for African art, Frank began his journey at just 19—curating wood carvings, paintings, and handcrafts from remote areas across Ghana.
Blending traditional techniques with his own creative flair, Frank transformed ordinary pieces into extraordinary works—like sculpted bedside lamps and carved coffee tables. His work quickly drew attention from both local and international audiences, taking him to exhibitions in countries like US, Canada, Germany, Senegal, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
At the heart of Frandebs Arts is Frank’s mission: to preserve and promote African heritage through timeless, handmade art.

Our wood carving process
At Frandebs Arts, every carving is more than just shaping wood — it’s a story being told through skilled hands and timeless tradition. Each strike of the chisel brings out hidden beauty, transforming raw material into a masterpiece filled with meaning and cultural pride. This process reflects patience, dedication, and artistry passed down through generations, ensuring that every finished piece is as authentic as the people and heritage it represents.
